In Rodin’s Eternal Idol, a man kneels, hands behind his back, and kisses the stomach of a gently smiling woman. Apparently I’m not the only one following the thread of male submission in classic sculpture; this submission comes to us from Sarah. Here’s her description of her relationship with the piece: Absolutely fell in love with this before I figured out BDSM myself.  Couldn’t figure out why I loved it so much, until after I’d figured out the BDSM side of myself.But if this isn’t male submission, I don’t know what is.  And I love the expression on her face.
